BRUNSWICK, N.J., May. 5 - College student nightlife is always associated with
party and bar. Knowing the best bars around the campus is the best way to
explore your college journey, student says.
Besides
the advantage of location, the low price also attracts most Rutgers students to
these bars for starting their nightlife on weekends.
Bars
have become an integral part of most students' lives. Rutgers students votes the
best bars in recent survey. According to The tap, Here are the list of top
seven bars:
1. Old Queens
Tavern
As
the most popular choice, “Queens” well-deserves the first spot in this ranking.
The nightly special serves cheap drinks to college students. In addition,
“Queens” also provides free bus to the stadium at Game day.
A
senior student at Rutgers, Tyler Bogart said Old Queens is the best bar around campus,
and he and his friends’ nightlife always begins at Queens.
“Queens
is definitely the best, their DJs are the
best compared to the bars around them, and their drinks are cheap and affordable,”
Tyler said. “It's a good place to relax with your friends after you finish your
school or work.”
2. Scarlet
Pub
Some
Rutgers students rank Scarlet Pub over Old Queens, because the Scarlet Pub’s
music and atmosphere is more attractive than others in town at night.
For
Rutgers senior Hemmanuel Cruz, having a good atmosphere was more important than
everything else, and he also liked the service because the waiters and
bartenders were very friendly.
“I
like Scarlet pub because the owner is amazing. Naji is the coolest dude and
always lets me cut the line,” said Cruz. “Plus the music there is dope.”
3. Kelly’s
Korner
As
a dive bar, Kelly’s Korner is a very quiet place and not quite like the pub we
imagine. The bar does not have deafening music or noisy crowds, instead, the
bar usually plays quiet music at afternoon.
Rutgers
junior Yijia Tong explained the reason why Kelly's Korner is one of the top three.
She said that Kelly's Korner was the best place for people who want to have a
drink and food with their friends.
“Even
though Kelly’s Korner is a small place, but I still want to go there when my
friends and I want to find a place to have some beer,” Tong said. “And you simply
can’t beat the cheap hamburger there.”
The
rest of bars on the top seven are: Knight club ranked No.4, Golden Rail at 5th,
Stuff Yer Face at 6th and Evelins at 7th.
