Kristin Amato, attending Rutgers University, is studying Journalism and Media Studies. Born and raised in New Jersey, she lives each day to her full potential. In her spare time, Kristin enjoys doings activities such as photography and exercising. One day she aspires to become a photojournalist for the New York Times.

Throughout Kristin's life, she has practiced photography whether available resources were around or not. When Amato turned 12, now 21, she received her first camera. It was a Barbie Polaroid camera but it did the job.

Then Kristin turned 16 where her dreams of becoming a photojournalist came to life. She bought her very first digital camera. Kristin was one step closer to living her dream and she did it all on her own.

After Amato played around with her new toy, she wanted something more. While going to school full time, having two jobs, and babysitting, she saved her money for a much bigger purchase. In the summer of 2012, Kristin bought her Canon Tsi Rebel.

So off she went into the world to capture life's greatest moments. Many portraits, landscapes, and sport events later, Kristin was expanding her knowledge and yearned to know about more in the Photography world. "It's not about who or what is in the picture, it's the meaning behind it" says Amato.
